About
Originally from Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, Natalie Bates lives and works throughout the Kansas City area as a drummer, graphic/web designer, instrument repair technician, co-owner of HKN Design and assistant founder/board member of the community youth non profit ‘5 Star Jazz Band’, and as a bartender at Casual Animal Brewery. In addition to frequently performing with Aryana Nemati, Jackie Myers, and Carly Atwood, she is the drummer for Grand Marquis, a brass band that blends Kansas City jazz and blues with Memphis soul.
Natalie has graduated from Penn Valley Community College with a Digital PrePress/Graphic Design Degree and from the UMKC Conservatory of Music and Dance with a BA in Jazz Studies.
